Port Hardy,  a welcoming community of just under 5,000 people, is located at the northern end of beautiful Vancouver Island. Found in the heart of a wilderness paradise Port Hardy is brimming over with recreational opportunities for kayakers, bird watchers, canoeists, cyclists, divers, hikers, hunters, fresh and salt water sports fishers. This is a great place to visit, or to live and raise a family.

As the southern terminal for the Port Hardy to Prince Rupert ferry, and the Discovery Passage ferry to Bella Bella, Shearwater, Klemtu and Bella Coola, Port Hardy is a primary service provider to thousands of people who live in the growing Mid Coast. It takes pride in having facilities and services expected to be found only in much larger areas.

The Mayor,  Council and staff have a 'can do' attitude and they are ready to work and make our community grow. Port Hardy is open for new businesses and willing to help existing ones expand.

We are strategically located and are the  crossroads of air, ferry, highway and marine transportation networks. Port Hardy is the largest business community north of Campbell River on Vancouver Island and we serve the North Island and the growing Mid Coast region.
