The BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations has prepared the Fiber Connections BC webpage for people interested in investing, buying, selling and getting information on forestry in BC. It serves as an avenue to accessing wood fiber. Included in the network are designated fiber officers from various natural resource sector ministry and agencies. Fiber officers link people through business-to-business transactions and by aligning individual requests with specific informational resources to better the flow of fiber from harvesters and other producers.
Another source available to buyers and sellers is WoodSource BC. This new website is a result of the 2009 Bridges project, which identified the need for small tenure owners such as community forests, private lands and woodlots to connect log sales with local saw millers. This easy-to-use sales tool provides ease of access to a wide variety of wood products at no costs to buyers or sellers.
